Aglianico
An Ancient and Rare Southern Italian Variety
Pronounced “olly-on-ico,” this historic grape thrives in the volcanic soils of Southern Italy. Our connection to this variety is inspired by our Italian ancestors, Francesco and Rosalina Leonetti, who immigrated to Walla Walla from Calabria. It was only fitting to plant Aglianico on the terraces of our Serra Pedace Vineyard, a hilltop in southern Walla Walla Valley named after Frank and Rose’s village.
